Soluna Samay est née le 27 août 1990 au Guatemala. Son père, Gerd G. Kettel, est allemand (il est plus connu sous le nom de Gee Gee Kettel) et sa mère est suisse.

La petite famille déménage au Danemark en 2000, après avoir acheté une ferme sur l’île de Bornholm.

En avril 2011, elle sort son premier single «Two seconds ago», qui reçoit un bon accueil, tant auprès du public que de la critique.

Le 23 septembre de la même année, son rêve se réalise avec la sortie de son tout premier album, baptisé «Sing out loud». Un travail de deux ans qu’elle a fournit avec les producteurs Jesper Meljvang et Michael Friis.

L’album comporte 14 titres d’inspiration pop-country.

Soluna est une excellente musicienne. Elle joue de la guitare. Elle parle aussi couramment l’anglais, le danois, l’espagnol et l’allemand.
